A poem in praise of libraries – Scroobius Pip

I saw this wonderful poem in praise of libraries posted on the MyBeautifulThings blog a couple of days ago. It is so wonderful, I just had to share it with you πŸ™‚

Library by Scroobius Pip

Libraries have certainly played a big part in my life and in our children’s lives as they have been growing up. Public libraries are precious. For me, they are an essential part of a civilised society. It will be an immeasurable loss if they are allowed to disappear from our towns and villages. Support your local libraries!

Enjoy the poem!

  1. Ah! This poem about libraries is superb! This also reminds me that we have to hurry up to locate the nearest library here in Bengaluru…

Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem Peggy… TC! Keep smiling πŸ™‚

  2. This is just fabulous – I loved it! Almost as much as I love libraries themselves:-) Made me want to watch the film of Matilda again and watch her come alive and have her life all changed around by being able to borrow books, and pulling them home on a cart in piles that are bigger than her. And when her Dad damages that library book…ooohh!!! Lovely start to the day listening to this, thanks Peggy! H xxx
