Looks great Peggy! Nice click!
Thanks Sindhu π I make the same recipe each year and it usually tastes good at Christmas π
Looks far better than my attempt. I used a too bigger tin and my cake turned out like a pancake. Oh well, I fed it with lots of brandy so it may just taste nice π
Oh Hugh, I am sure your cake will taste just fine … especially if you keep feeding it with brandy up to the big day π
Oh I will. I just hope it doesn’t get anybody too drunk if they have a piece (or should that be slice, as it is going to resemble a pizza).
Your ‘pizza’ idea did make me laugh, Hugh! Perhaps you could serve it with some nice slices of cheese and start a whole new concept in pizza – Christmas cake with a good lacing of brandy π π
A work of art!
Thank you π
Hi Peggy,
Thanks for stopping by my Wordless Wednesday post. Thought I’d return the favor, so…here we are! (Josephine and me) But, alas. I have been staring at your WW photo. Forgive me, but…what is it?

Hi Maureen and JB – thanks for dropping by π My Wordless Wednesday image this week is my then unbaked Christmas cake, covered in almonds and all prepared in its tin ready to go in the oven for cooking π
I am pleased to say it smelled very like a Christmas cake … and looked very like a Christmas cake when it came out of the oven too π
I think it might be the season to be cooking π
Cathy
It’s certainly a warming activity for these chilly Winter days π
