Zooming in on photo details can sometimes play tricks on our brains. “What’s this?” we ask. Can we guess without more context?
Here are my zoomed-in photo subjects for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week. Nature was my muse … as she so often is for my photos π

Next week I will create a post showing the original photos, so you can see my zooms in context!
You can join in the fun and see what others have spotted for “What’s This?” on Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week.

Very nice captures!
Thank you
Interesting captures! I have just read the answers, so I can’t take part in the fun.
Thank you! Glad you liked my photos! I’m sorry you missed out on the fun guessing part … sometimes it would be good if WordPress had a system that loads our posts in date order, so when someone posts a series of blog posts, we can follow it in sequence … but sadly that’s probably impossible π
These are fun π I cheated a bit and read the other comments…I never would’ve got number two…and number one, how about….a mini waterfall, or a fish splashing in a pond/river? I look forward to seeing the original photos. Have a great weekend…and yes, nature is indeed a generous muse… H x
It has been such fun putting this together and then ‘playing the game’! π You have nailed #2 … it’s a lovely little waterfall. Peggy π
LOL – very cool π
Without looking at the others first: a tossed salad, I mean the water flowing away from a salad being washed / sugar in a bowl / a mushroom, one of a group of Basidiomycota (at least, that’s what the dictionary tells me). I really like the water photo.
You are on the right lines with water … but it is in the wild not domestic. Sugar bowl … that’s an interesting interpretation, I like it … but sorry, no. And mushroom … indeed it is! Thank you for visiting π
So #3 is some sort of mushroom or fungus and #1 is something splashing, but I’ve no idea what # 2 could be!
You’re on the nose with your 2 guesses!
Where you bin?
Hello Derrick! I’ve been a busy parent! … but I missed my blogging so much, I was determined to return π
Welcome, back. You are, of course, entitled to a normal life
Thank you! … this was my tale … https://oaktreesstudio.wordpress.com/2016/05/14/making-more-thyme-for-blogging/
The first one seems like water from a tap, the second is crushed ice or is it snow ? very interesting:)
The first one is certainly water … but not flowing from a tap (it’s in a wild place!) The second, you have the right material. Glad you enjoyed my Cee’s Challenge entry π
no 1 a tap splashing water outdoors?, no 2 melting snow on a flower pot?, no3 a mushroom?
Well done! 2 out of 3 correct … and you are very close with the first one too! Thank you for visiting π
Thank You for visiting me as well! The house is seen through the car window during heavy rain!
A hose then?
No … this one’s a wild place π
A wild place? A tiny waterfall?
AHA! you have it!
π
I have an idea for them. Although I know for sure the last photo is a mushroom. π
HA! you are an expert, Cee! You have made these kind of images before, I think π
No.. 1 Rain, No. 2?, No. 3 Zuchetti flowers on a zuchetti.
Ah, you are close with a watery guess, but it is bigger than rain π But not zuchetti, I’m afraid π Thank you for visiting!
